飛行機の搭乗時やホテル利用時にパスポートの確認はありません。
在留カードや外国人登録証明書の交付を受けられた方は、常に携帯する義務があります。

外国籍の方で旅行で日本に来られている場合には、パスポートは常時携帯が必要です。

法令に基づき、「日本国内に住所を有しない外国人」の方が宿泊施設を利用する際に、宿泊者名簿に、①氏名　②住所　③連絡先 等の記載に加えて ④国籍　⑤旅券番号　の記載が義務付けられています。 パスポートの提示およびコピーが求められますので必ずご持参ください。

Make sure you carry your passport at all times during your trip to Japan. It is a legal requirement and local police may ask to check your identification.

The Government of Japan, in accordance with the relevant laws and regulations, requires foreign nationals who do not possess an address in Japan to give the information of their nationalities and passport numbers in addition to their names, addresses and contact information, etc. in the register of lodgers when staying at a lodging.
